Comfort Zone: Hindrance to your next-level

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”. Gen 12:1-3.

Sometimes the environment in which we find ourselves can pose as a threat or hindrance to our Next-Level. It makes it difficult for us to move into a new dimension by blinding us with the immediate comfort we are experiencing. It has a way affecting our perspective on the promises of God and their fulfillment.

God did not need Abraham to leave his country and kindred in order for Him, to bless him. But if he doesn’t, they will be a great distraction for Abraham in having absolute confidence in God. Whenever we are surrounded by family and friends, we tend to depend on them in crises or challenging times for help instead of trusting God. Once we take that path, we submerge ourselves into disappointment, resentment and bitterness when they fail to meet our expectations. These resentments and bitterness also poison our spirits thereby impeding our blessing.

Therefore, when God calls someone for an unusual purpose, He often removes them from their familiar or comfortable environment. This also happened to Moses. The Lord needed him so He had to take Him out of the comfort of Pharaoh’s palace, lead him to the desert to rid him off Pharaoh’s influence, and then have him returned to deliver the people of Israel from Egypt’s yoke.

Joseph is also another classic example. His brothers selling him to the Ishmaelites for them to also sell him to Potiphar in Egypt was all the orchestration for God to get him out of his comfort zone. If he had not been sold to the Ishmaelites, Joseph would have remained in his father’s house for that famine to kill his family; the nation Israel would not be birthed and above all God’s promises shown him in the dreams would not have manifested.

Whenever you find yourself in an uncomfortable or unfamiliar environment, you have no one to depend on but God. This is what aids you in trusting God and accelerates your movement to the ‘Next Level’. It is time for that great move! Don’t cry when things get uncomfortable. See it as an opportunity to the ‘Next-Level’.
