“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
There are burdens, problems or challenges and yokes we struggle with every day. However, God tells us in Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” But how do you become still in the face of adversity and turmoil? The only way to be still in the face of adversity and turmoil is to recognize the strength of our God. And when that is settled, then it becomes easier to surrender our burdens to him.
By not surrendering to God, is to choose to live a burdened, restless and stressed life with all its pressures. In contrast, when we give our problems to the Lord, we become still and receive His rest. The reason why our challenges seems insurmountable, is because we are seeing it with our own eyes instead of God’s. It is time to change our view and surrender it all unto him and take our rest.
When do we enter our rest? Our rest is ignited and initiated the moment we stop fighting with our own strength; when we let go of the burden and surrender to God. Today, we can begin to rest, starting with this simple prayer:
“Lord, I cannot fix this problem with my own strength, so I let it go and leave it in Your hands”.
When we let go, our soul rests, and allows God to be God. When we surrender to His will, we allow Him to intervene in our problems and provide us with the desired solution.
Today the Lord wants to teach us how to rest in Him. While we serve and worship Him, He will work in our favor. Surrender to Him now! and let God be God!
Beloved, whatever the problem that is overwhelming you, on this day God wants you to place all your burdens at the foot of the cross, and walk away free to enjoy your rest!
Pray with me
Lord Jesus, I repent for trying to do everything with my own strength. I apologise for not letting you act on my behalf. I surrender to you O’ Holy Spirit my helper and comforter! From this moment on, I let You be God in my life. Today I make a commitment to love and serve You with all my heart. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
